We want to clear up some rumors circulating on some blogs stating that our Chase Freedom credit card will be discontinued at the end of the year
Here are the facts
- There are no plans to discontinue Chase Freedom or the 5% categories that come with it.
- Chase Freedom is one of our most popular cards and will continue to be available online.
- Chase Freedom Unlimited debuted in March to give customers more options for earning cash back – not to replace Chase Freedom.
As always, use your resources to help customers apply for the card that’s right for them. If customers want to apply for Chase Freedom in the branch, you can help them apply on chase.com. [Last few words are cut off in the picture I saw]

但是 DoC 自己也说了，Chase 的这类回复未必是真的，他们也可能自打脸的。另外值得注意的一点是，我们 Google 了一下这段话，发现这段话居然是3月份就已经出现在 TPG 的博文里了！也就是说，Chase 这段话其实针对的并不是最近的这个 rumor。。。

好久没来吓唬大家的小心肝了，但是现在有个英文论坛满天飞的乳摸，目前这消息仅是rumor，我们也在尽力核实，大家就先当闲聊看吧！
Chase Freedom 每季度有一个类别的消费能够赚 5x UR 点数，是一张深受欢迎的信用卡。然而最近在reddit上有小道消息指出，Chase Freedom 可能将于今年年底被下架，强制转卡为 Chase Freedom Unlimited (CFU)——新出的 everything 1.5x UR 的信用卡。鉴于帖子的楼主说这一小道消息的来源是 Chase Private Client (CPC) Banker，所以有一定的可信度。另外，DoC 也在回帖中表示他收到了好几封读者 email 跟他说起同一个小道消息。不得不说，综合看来，这个消息很可能是真的了。其实现在 Chase branch 里已经无法申请老 Freedom 了，只能网申，这就是一个此产品即将被下架的强烈信号。
一路走来，各种5%返现卡都是要么已经下架，要么走在了下架的路上。 R.I.P.。前有 Sallie Mae 和 Citi Forward，今有 Chase Freedom。估计银行经过这么多年的数据积累，已经发现5%返现无法让其盈利了，他们估计本来的计划是用5%返现留住客户然后期待客户所有消费都刷它，没想到有太多人就只刷那5%的类别。。。其他的5%返现卡是否能够坚挺呢？Old Blue Cash (OBC) 已经是半死不活的状态，BBVA Compass NBA 刚刚被加上了上限。如果 Chase Freedom 当真被下架了，我想 Chase 家的真神卡 Chase Ink Plus 应该也不远了… 希望最受大家欢迎的 Discover it 能够靠着更高的刷卡手续费坚挺吧！
当然，我们也非常非常希望这个小道消息不是真的！希望认识 Chase 员工的读者以及 CPC 用户能够问一问认识的 banker 他们是怎么看这一消息的，希望这个小道消息最后能够被打脸！
