相信常讀本站的讀者大概都知道，在做 AmEx 信用卡的開卡消費任務時，Gift Cards (GC) 的消費是不被計入的。自從2016年一大波人的100k開卡獎勵被收回以來，AmEx 就延續了這個政策。
在開卡獎勵之外，購買 GC 也經常是有利可圖的。比如我身邊就有不少朋友喜歡用 AmEx Gold 在超市買 Amazon GC，這樣一來就相當於在 Amazon 的消費也有 4x MR 點數的回報了。至今數據點都表明 AmEx 還不在意這種開卡獎勵之外的 GC 消費。
今天DoC發了一篇文章聲稱，AmEx在條款里新增了一點內容，對普通消費（開卡獎勵之外的消費）購買GC的攢點能力也增加了限制，說目前有 Biz Blue 和 AmEx Gold 兩張卡是這樣。然而其實這篇文章有一定的誤導性，因此在這裡我來嘗試解釋清楚目前的現狀。
因為我們從1年前就開始保存AmEx的各種條款，所以我們發現，至少在1年以前，AmEx 就已經對如下幾張卡限制普通消費中GC的攢點能力了：AmEx Biz Blue, AmEx Gold, AmEx ED, AmEx EDP, AmEx BCE。神奇的是AmEx BCP跟上面幾張卡非常相關卻至今沒有把exclude GC列入條款，不知道他們是怎麼想的。
具體條款是類似這樣的（以AmEx ED為例）：
For each dollar charged on an eligible purchase in each billing period on your Amex EveryDay® Credit Card from American Express, you earn one Membership Rewards® point. You earn: 1 additional point (for a total of 2 points) on the first $6,000 of eligible purchases in a calendar year at supermarkets located in the U.S. (superstores and warehouse clubs are not considered supermarkets). Eligible purchases are purchases for goods and services minus returns and other credits. Eligible purchases do NOT include fees or interest charges, balance transfers, cash advances, purchases of travelers checks, purchases or reloading of prepaid cards, purchases of gift cards; person-to-person payments or purchases of other cash equivalents. Additional terms and restrictions apply.
既然一年以前條款中就有這句話，而一年來實際數據點都表明GC仍然可以在普通消費時正常攢點（千萬不要在做開卡消費的時候買GC就是了），說明AmEx最近在這方面並沒有什麼新的動作，don’t panic。當然，既然法律武器已經具備了，AmEx就有權利在任何一天去clawback你已經通過這種方式攢的點數，如果有這麼一天，我們肯定會更新文章通知大家的。且擼且珍惜吧…
