大概是從2023年11月起，AmEx 搞起來了一種非常猥瑣的開卡獎勵條款：標題中寫的是 “AS HIGH AS xxx” 點數，然後下面告訴你，你只有填了資料提交申請之後才能看到你具體能拿到多少點數的 offer，你看到這個數字之後可以選擇接受offer或放棄申請，在這期間不會產生 hard pull 影響分數，只有接受 offer 之後才會產生 hard pull。
具體條款是這樣寫的（以 AmEx Platinum 為例）：
As High As 175,000 Membership Rewards® points Welcome Offer
After you submit your application and before you accept the Card (if you are approved), we will tell you the exact amount of Membership Rewards®points which you are eligible to earn with your Welcome Offer, which will be an amount as high as 175,000 points. This means that the amount of points which you are eligible to earn with your Welcome Offer may be less than 175,000 points. You can earn these points after you spend $8,000 (the “Threshold Amount”) or more in eligible purchases on your Platinum Card® from American Express within the first 6 months of Card Membership starting from the date your account is opened.
貌似自從2023年出現以來，AmEx 讓這種 “AS HIGH AS” 的offer出現的越來越普遍了。具體語言也從一開始的 “up to xxx” 變成了現在更為標準的 “AS HIGH AS”。目前主要是以下卡容易出現這種 “AS HIGH AS” 的offer：
- AmEx Platinum 信用卡 AS HIGH AS 175k offer（普通 offer 80k）。
- AmEx Gold 信用卡 AS HIGH AS 100k（普通 offer 60k）。
個人理解，以前AmEx的開卡獎勵經常可以通過隱身模式+掛VPN切換IP地址的手段，刷到史高offer。但是AmEx估計還是覺得這樣發出去的offer有太多本站讀者這樣的gamer來申請了。於是他們決定，把以前那種隱身模式的offer逐步替換成這樣的 AS HIGH AS offer。這樣一來，naive 的申請人看到的是高offer申下來也是高offer，咱們這種gamer就只能眼巴巴的看著 AS HIGH AS 那麼高的數字而最後只給一個史低offer。
這種 AS HIGH AS 的操作實在是令人厭惡，不知道會不會也引起普通申卡人的厭惡，讓AmEx重新考慮一下這種策略到底是不是合適。
