再也不能撸备品?各大酒店集团开始放弃小瓶装备品

住酒店最常见的讨论话题之一就是备品。一般每个品牌的酒店都有其独家合作的备品品牌:比如广受好评的华尔道夫的 Salvatore Ferragamo/丽思卡尔顿的 Asprey/艾迪逊和柏悦的 Le Labo 以及广受吐槽的瑞吉的 Remede 等等。备品的好坏会直接影响住店体验,羊毛客们更是会毫不客气的薅上满满一箩筐备品回家慢慢用。

不过这样的日子似乎就要结束了?昨天 Hyatt 集团宣布将在全世界范围内逐渐将旗下酒店的小瓶装备品换为大瓶装,预计2021年6月全部完成:

CHICAGO (November 12, 2019) – Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) is announcing a series of initiatives to reduce waste at Hyatt hotels globally, including introducing large-format bathroom amenities and reducing single-use water bottles by June 2021. The following initiatives will be introduced as soon as possible in properties around the world, and no later than June 2021:

  • Transitioning to large-format bathroom amenities to replace traditional small bottles of shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and lotion.
  • Increasing the number of water stations in key public spaces at hotels for guests who wish to refill reusable water bottles.
  • Serving water in carafes or other containers for meetings and events; bottled water will be available by request.

其实早在 Hyatt 之前,IHG 和 Marriott 就已经于今年早些时候宣布将逐渐停止使用小瓶装一次性备品,以后全部改为大瓶装:

    IHG® (InterContinental Hotels Group), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, has today announced that its entire hotel estate of almost 843,000 guest rooms will switch to bulk-size bathroom amenities, with the transition to be completed during 2021. Building on its efforts to reduce plastic waste as part of a broader sustainability agenda, this pledge makes IHG the first global hotel company to commit all brands to removing bathroom miniatures in favour of bulk-size amenities.

  • Marriott International To Eliminate Single-Use Shower Toiletry Bottles From Properties Worldwide, Expanding Successful 2018 Initiative

    Marriott International (NASDAQ: MAR) today announced that it’s expanding an initiative to replace tiny, single-use toiletry bottles of shampoo, conditioner and bath gel in guestroom showers with larger, pump-topped bottles. To date, the company has already rolled out larger bottles at about 1,000 properties in North America, and now expects most of its other hotels to make the switch by December 2020. When fully implemented across the globe, Marriott International’s expanded toiletry program is expected to prevent about 500 million tiny bottles annually from going to landfills; that’s about 1.7 million pounds of plastic, a 30 percent annual reduction from current amenity plastic usage.

至此,Hyatt/IHG/Marriott集团都表示会在未来一两年内“消灭”小瓶装备品,Hilton是否跟上目前看来只是时间问题。简单来说,以后大家在各大集团酒店看到的就基本上是下图里那种嵌入在墙上的大瓶装备品了。

为什么酒店集团会如此想要取代小瓶装备品呢?公开的原因主要是环保:从Hyatt/IHG/Marriott的新闻稿中,大家无一例外能看到的动机都是减少塑料的使用。在大部分情况下,酒店的备品一般都用不完,就算内容物可以回收了再制成别的东西(我只知道酒店用不完的肥皂会被回收了做成新肥皂送去贫困地区,备品里面的东西我不是很清楚如何处理的),小瓶装备品确实会产生很多额外的塑料垃圾。换成大瓶之后就是“铁打的瓶子流水的洗发液”,确实可以省掉很多塑料和麻烦。从这个角度来说,我其实是比较支持换大瓶的。

还有一个隐形原因酒店集团肯定不会明说,那就是节约成本。一瓶瓶用了一半的备品,酒店除了扔了或者回收也做不了啥,然后客房清理时必须换成新的。但如果是大瓶装,瓶子擦一擦,然后隔段时间灌满就好了,不存在用不掉必须扔掉的问题。可以预见的是在备品上的支出能省掉很大一笔。又环保又省钱,何乐而不为?

但还是有很多人对酒店更换大瓶装备品的行为表示怀疑甚至反对:

  • 清洁问题:被无数双手挤过的瓶子,肯定有人觉得不卫生。甚至要是有人恶作剧往瓶子里弄奇怪的东西,清洁人员如何发现呢?
  • 及时更新:万一清洁人员大意了没有更新,岂不是用一半就没了?洗到一半挤不出来了多尴尬。
  • 逼格:酒店套房一般会给接近100ml的备品,而基础房的就小得多,以后都一样了,没法低调装逼了!

其实这些问题倒也不难解决,但住客确实做不了更多,只能指望酒店人员更上心。有人怀疑可能存在以次充好的问题,这个就算是小瓶装也可能存在。前段时间就有新闻报道国内香格里拉酒店的备品用的地摊货…这个其实与备品无关,而是最基本的诚信了。

不过话说回来,谁说换大瓶装就没法撸?只怕对有心之人来说可以撸的更爽吧。。。
