2019.10 Update: There is now no commission fee for online stock, ETF, and options trades! Previously the cost was $4.95/trade. Schwab now joins E*Trade and TD Ameritrade as major brokerages that have removed trade fees within the last couple of months.

Application Link

  • Charles Schwab Brokerage Account. You can use my referral code: REFER4U7MQ8R6 in “Add an offer/referral code”. I recommend to get their debit card as well for free international ATMs, therefore in “choose an account” you should select “Schwab Bank Checking Account from Schwab Bank Linked to a Schwab One® brokerage account”.

Benefits

  1. $100~$500 sign-up bonus: deposit “some” amount within 45 days and earn “some” bonus, see the table below for deposit requirement. This offer is not valid to who currently have any Schwab deposit product. You need to keep the amount for at least one year, or Schwab will charge the bonus amount back. You need to use a referral link (the above link is our referral link). You can also ask your friend to give you a referral code, just be aware that your friend won’t get any referral bonus from this bank.
  2. $0 commission for stocks and ETFs since 2019.10.07!
  3. $0 monthly fee, no minimum deposit requirements.
  4. The Charles Schwab debit card has no fee in any ATM around the world.
  5. This account makes you eligible for AmEx Platinum for Schwab card.

Disadvantages

  1. Applying for this account will result in a Hard Pull (HP) on Equifax (EQ). (One HP for brokerage+checking.)

Summary

Now that the commission is $0, this account is one of the best brokerage account. It also comes with a great debit card, and also makes you eligible for AmEx Platinum for Schwab card. Charles Schwab indeed gives us a lot of reasons to apply!
