Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite Mastercard® (Citi AA Exe) Review
2026.8 Update: The new welcome offer is 125k. This is the best ever offer on this card. However, the spending requirement is quite high: $15k in purchases within 5 months. There are also many refresh of benefits:
- Enhanced earning rates: Hotel and rental car bookings made through the AA travel portal now earn 12x miles, up from 10x. All other earning rates remain unchanged.
- Loyalty Points boosts: Cardholders will receive an additional 10k Loyalty Points upon reaching 50k/90k/165k/240k LP. Previously, only the 50k and 90k tiers were available. Note that these thresholds are based on the Loyalty Points accumulated in the cardholder』s AAdvantage account; the LP do not need to be earned through spending on this card.
- New partner benefits:
- Primary cardholders receive Omni Select Guest Champion status, which is Omni Hotels』 second-highest elite tier, just below Icon.
- After enrolling in Omni Champion status, cardholders can earn one Omni Free Night Award each year after completing one eligible stay of at least 2 nights.
- Primary cardholders receive Avis President』s Club status. Enrollment must be completed by August 31, 2028.
- New coupon-book benefits:
- Up to $500 in statement credits per calendar year for AA Vacations Packages purchases, split into $250 for each half of the year.
- Up to $100 in statement credits per calendar year for AA inflight purchases or Admirals Club purchases.
- The monthly Lyft credit increases from $12 to $15.
- The card is being upgraded from World Elite Mastercard to World Legend Mastercard.
The new benefits and annual fee take effect on August 23, 2026. Overall, the benefits are somewhat better, but the improvement is not especially significant. This card will probably still appeal mainly to people who value AA Admirals Club access.
It is not yet clear how easy it will be to use the $500 AA Vacations Packages credit. If the credit is easy to redeem, that would make the card somewhat more attractive to keep.

Recommended Application Time
- [8/65 Rule] You can apply for at most 1 Citi cards every 8 days, and at most 2 Citi cards every 65 days, no matter approved or not.
- [1/48 Rule] The welcome bonus is not available if you have received a new account bonus for this card in the past 48 months.
- Citi values the number of recent hard pulls a lot, we recommend you apply when there’s less than 6 hard pulls in the past 6 months.
- We recommend you apply for this card after you have a credit history of at least one year.
Summary
Note that you can only get ONE sign-up bonus among the Citi AA cards in 24 months. Although the sign-up bonus is the highest among the Citi AA cards, its first year high annual fee is not waived. So we recommend Citi AA Platinum instead of this card.
