Barclaycard CashForward World MasterCard Review

Application Link

  • This card no longer accepts new applications. If you are lucky to have this legacy credit card, you can still enjoy its original benefits.

Benefits

  1. Earn $200 after spending $1,000 in first 90 days. This is the best offer for the card.
  2. Earn 1.5% cash back on all purchases.
  3. Every time you redeem, get a 5% cash rewards redemption bonus to use toward your next redemption. So equivalently you can earn 1.575% cashback on all purchases.
  4. No annual fee.

Disadvantages

  1. It has foreign transaction fee, so it's not a good choice outside the US.

Recommended Application Time

  1. Barclays value the number of recent hard pulls a lot, we recommend you apply when you have less than 6 hard pulls in the past 6 months.
  2. We recommend you apply for this card after you have a credit history of at least one year.

Summary

This card isn’t impressive. When the offer is $100, there’s no point in applying. When the offer is $200, it’s barely satisfactory as a no annual fee card, but remember that Barclaycard is not easy to get approved. Nowadays there are so many 1.5% cashback credit cards, but in terms of cashback on non-bonus categories, obviously the winner is Citi Double Cash (DC) which offers 2% cash back for everything and no annual fee. Despite all these, this card is still a good downgrade option for Barclaycard.

After Applying

  • Barclays reconsideration backdoor number: 866-408-4064. Barclays tends to ask various questions and you must know all the answers about personal information and credit report. Besides, you may get HP again, but will be informed in advance. Therefore, think carefully before calling.
