AmEx Clawed Back Airline Fee Credit from Some People!

AmEx and their Rewards Abuse Team (RAT) is trying their best these days to punish any abusive behavior. Today, a new development happened: some people got their airline fee credit clawed back!

The airline fee credit is a benefit for several premium credit cards, for example: AmEx Hilton Aspire ($250), AmEx Platinum ($200), AmEx Gold ($100). It used to be easy to get: you could simply buy airline gift cards to trigger the credit. But this method no longer worked starting late last year. Nowadays some people purchase airline tickets with price less than $100 to get this credit. Some people even return the ticket after they get the credit. AmEx’s move today is targeting these people that refunded the air tickets this year and/or last year.

The big trend is, it is harder and harder to take advantage of the banks. Enjoy it while you can!
