Points Transfer Bonus Offers: MR -> British Airways (BA) Avios 40% Bonus (targeted)

We will keep updating recent points transfer bonus offers in this post.

(2019.6) MR -> British Airways (BA) Avios 40% Bonus (Targeted)

Today American Express is offering some members a 40% bonus when transferring their membership rewards points to their BA avios account. It is a targeted offer. You need to log in to your Amex account to see if you’re targeted. MR offered similar 40-50% targeted transfer bonus to BA not long ago (2019.6).

(2019.7) Capital One -> Avianca (AV) LifeMiles 25% Bonus (Expired)

Now there’s a Capital One -> Avianca (AV) LifeMiles 25% bonus offer. Valid from 2019.07.01 to 2019.07.31. Note that the transfer rate of C1 points is not 1:1, it’s 2:1.5. Therefore with the transfer bonus, the rate is now 2:1.875. I feel LifeMiles program is really getting more and more fond of selling miles…

(2019.6) TYP -> Avianca (AV) LifeMiles 30% Bonus (Expired)

Now there’s a Citi TYP -> Avianca (AV) LifeMiles 30% bonus offer, here is the link. This promo is only valid for two days: 2019.06.27 – 2019.06.28. These days Avianca LifeMiles has a lot of promotions, just a few weeks ago there is a TYP -> AV 25% bonus offer and it is still not expired. AV LifeMiles is one of the useful mileage programs in Star Alliance, and is one of the best ways to use your TYP. So with this bonus, it is even better now. If you have plans to redeem for Star Alliance flights, go ahead and enjoy the promo!

(2019.6) TYP -> AF/KLM Flying Blue 25% Bonus (Expired)

There’s a Citi TYP -> AF/KLM Flying Blue 25& bonus offer now. Promo ends on Jul 20, 2019. No need to register, no upper limit.

(2019.6) Marriott Bonvoy -> Air Canada (AC) Aeroplan 35% Bonus (Expired)

Aeroplan offers a 35% transfer bonus from Marriott Bonvoy again. Promo deadline: Jun 26, 2019. Here is the link to this promo. No need to register, no upper limit. Marriott travel packages are excluded.

If you transfer 60k Marriott Bonvoy points, for example, you get 25k Aeroplan by default, then with 35% bonus, you will eventually get 33.75k Aeroplan.

(2019.6) MR -> Qantas (QF) 20+20% Bonus (Expired)

There is a AmEx MR -> Qantas 20% bonus offer. Data points show that this can be stacked with Qantas’s own targeted promo (see below). The terms say these two can not be stacked, so be prepared that one day Qantas may claw back these extra miles. Promo deadline: Jun 30, 2019. No need to register, no upper limit.

(2019.6) MR -> Marriott Bonvoy up to 50% Bonus (Targeted) (Expired)

Some people also get targeted to a MR->Marriott transfer bonus. It is up to 50% bonus. No upper limit, and it seems no expiration date as well. The original ratio is 1:1, so with 50% bonus the ratio will be 1:1.5. We value MR points at 1.6 c/p and Marriott 0.7 c/p, therefore it is still not a very good transfer ratio. But if you just need a little more Marriott points to accomplish a redemption, you may consider it.

(2019.6) MR -> British Airways (BA) Avios up to 50% Bonus (Targeted) (Expired)

Today American Express is offering some members a 50% bonus when transferring their membership rewards points to their BA avios account. It is highly targeted. You need to log in to your Amex account to see if you’re targeted.

Recalling that British Airways just announced the devaluation on partner airlines, the 50% bonus is not as appealing as before devaluation, but it can still offset the devalued difference. MR-> Avios transfer is instant for most of the time so you can search the route first and transfer the points once you’ve decided. Anyway, it’s a good offer.

(2019.6) MR -> jetBlue (B6) TrueBlue up to 50% Bonus (Targeted) (Expired)

Today American Express is also offering some members a 50% bonus when transferring their membership rewards points to their JetBlue TrueBlue account.

TrueBlue points are 1.3cpp. Under the bonus, 250 MR can get you 300 TrueBlue points, which is a 1.2 ratio. In total, you can get 1.2*1.3=1.56cpp by transferring your MR points to JetBlue.

(2019.6) TYP -> Avianca (AV) LifeMiles 25% Bonus (Expired)

Now there’s a Citi TYP -> Avianca (AV) LifeMiles 25% bonus offer. Promo deadline: Jul 5, 2019. AV LifeMiles is one of the useful mileage programs in Star Alliance, and is one of the best ways to use your TYP. So with this bonus, it is even better now. If you have plans to redeem for Star Alliance flights, go ahead and enjoy the promo!

(2019.6) Capital One -> AF/KLM Flying Blue 20% Bonus (Expired)

There’s a Capital One -> AF/KLM Flying Blue 20% bonus. Offer ends on 6/30. Note that the default transfer rate is only 2:1.5, therefore with bonus the rate is now 2:1.8 (or 1:0.9).

(2019.6) Bank Points -> Qantas (QF) up to 30% Bonus (Targeted) (Expired)

Some people received email about this targeted promo: you can transfer bank points (i.e., Citi TYP and AmEx MR if you are in the US) to Qantas (QF) and get a 15%/20%/30% bonus. This is Qantas’s own promo, and it’s different from the banks’ promo. Details:

  • Transfer up to 500K get a 15% bonus
  • Transfer between 500,001 and 1,999,999 and get a 20% bonus
  • Transfer 2,000,000 or more and get a 30% bonus

I don’t anyone will transfer 2M bank points to QF, 500k is also too much. So basically this is a 15% promo.

(2019.5) MR -> Virgin Atlantic (VS) Flying Club 30% Bonus (Expired)

Now there’s a AmEx MR -> Virgin Atlantic (VS) Flying Club 30% bonus offer. Promo deadline: Jul 1, 2019. VS miles are useful not only for its own flights, but also for Delta and ANA flights.
